Marko Kovacevic is a Serbian photographer based in Brooklyn, New York. His personal work is often informed by his own immigrant experiences, and focuses on the the relationships between people and places, notions of home and cultural idiosyncrasies. He finds inspiration in people, memories, the sense of place and history, both public and personal.
He has earned his BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York, and is currently studying to receive an MFA in Photography, Video and Related Media from the same school. As a member of the SVA community he also works as Studio Manager for the Masters in Digital Photography program and teaches in the BFA Computer Arts department. He is a co-founder and teacher at Junior Lab, a photography-based visual literacy program for children.
As a freelance photographer he has worked on assignments for Conde Nast, Dedegumo, Flying Colors Apparel, Brooklyn Dry Goods, Guitar Connoisseur Magazine and the School of Visual Arts among others, and his images have appeared in Vogue Mexico, Vogue Italia, Vogue.it, The New York Times, BergdorfGoodman.com.
